Leadership Foundations Programs
Elysian Enterprises, in partnership with our associates, provide educational programs to develop key capabilities needed for managing and leading others. Our programs are designed to develop leadership capacities for team leaders, managers of managers and executives in corporate, business and governmental settings.
Key capabilities developed include:
- Management: selection and developing employees, performance management, objective setting, systemic problem solving.
- Leadership: creating shared vision and values, employee engagement, leading change, personal resilience.
As managers and leaders move into more senior positions, new skills need to be acquired. For this reason, we customize our programs to reflect the needs of different audiences. We provide educational programs at three different management levels:
Team Leadership
- Moving from individual contributor to first line management.
- Mastering management fundamentals: SMART goals, developing others, performance feedback, building an inclusive workplace, introduction to systems thinking.
Managers of Managers
- Selecting and developing other managers.
- Aligning priorities and objectives with Commonwealth mission and strategy.
- Working across boundaries, collaboration, communication, coaching, engaging employees and teams, leading change, decision making, applied systems thinking.
Executive Leadership (e.g. Department heads)
- Developing, implementing and sustaining strategic direction and vision.
- Fostering organizational effectiveness, stakeholder relationship building and management, human resource strategy.
Elysian Enterprises also provides workshop for high performing teams. High performing teams are comprised of a group of people who hold themselves committed and mutually accountable for the achievement of a common purpose and who have a working approach that ensures that the talents of each member are fully utilized. A 2008 report from the Center for Creative Leadership found that although teams are increasingly important to organizational success, they are also generally functioning below optimal performance.
Elysian Enterprises works with associates provide highly customized team coaching workshops, designed to improve the performance of teams at any level in the organization. Our skilled team facilitators assist team members to learn critical skills, including decision making and problem solving, conflict resolution, collaboration, negotiation, communication, feedback, customer management, and project management.
- Team coaching workshops are particularly effective at the launch of a critical new project or team or to improve the performance of an existing team.
- A typical team launch workshop would include a 2-4 hour kickoff meeting, focusing on defining the core purpose of the team and defining clear behavioral rules of engagement. This may be followed by additional coaching for the team leader, or team, if appropriate.
- A team workshop focused on improving the performance of an existing team would typically begin with a confidential assessment of the team’s success in achieving its mission and understanding the team’s patterns of behaviors that may be preventing high performance. This provides the information necessary to ensure a focused, customized, and highly effective workshop outcome.
